The students of the Department of Visual Communication Design of the Asian University of Taiwan participated in the 2020 New York Art Guidance Association (NY ADC) design competition. There were 16 students of the Department of Visual Communication and 6 works. They won a total of 1 gold award, 2 bronze awards, and outstanding performances. It is worth mentioning that the organizers calculated the points, and Asian University entered the ranking of the top 100 universities and colleges in the world. Among the top design schools in the world, the world ranked 13th and Taiwan ranked first.

 

Professor Lin Pan of the Department of Visual Communication said that the New York Art Association's "New York ADC Award" design competition began in 1920. It is one of the oldest and most prestigious design and advertising activities in the world, and is recognized by the global advertising and design community. The most representative professional design award, whose name is "Design Oscar". The ADC Design Award is the 99th this year and the 100th anniversary next year. This is one of the awards highly valued and affirmed by the advertising industry. This is also a design competition awarded by the Ministry of Education during the Warring States Period.

The work of "Geng Tian" by the master student of the Department of Visual Communication Huang Weiyu won the gold award in the brand recognition design category of NY ADC. Huang Weiyu said that the design concept of the "Geng Tian" logo comes from the cross structure of "warp" and "weft" of Taiwan's traditional textile woven products. The "Geng Tian" logo is now the logo of a workshop that teaches traditional hand-woven Taiwan in the Taiwan Chinese Creative Park. The store hopes to increase the recognition of local culture through hand-woven teaching courses.
